Tom Saulsbery Tom Saulsbery begins his second year coaching with the Personal Best team. Since retiring from the U.S. Army a few years ago he has found adapting aspects of coaching and motivation from his past experiences to be very rewarding. His primary goal in coaching is to help others achieve their goals and to return something to the sports that have offered him a healthy, productive lifestyle.
Tom's strength as a coach is his ability to relate to the "first timers" and "middle of the pack" runners and triathletes, and he approaches his coaching from their perspective. He has coached runners from the 5K to the marathon and trained beginner triathletes to finish their first triathlons successfully. Tom has run for over 15 years, having run 7 marathons with a personal record of 3:18. His greatest athletic accomplishment was finishing the grueling Ironman Canada Triathlon in 1998! He completed this race once again in 1999. |
